About the Aircraft: The MD-900 Explorer utilizes the (NOTAR--No Tail Rotor) anti-torque and directional control system in place of tail rotors. The Explorer's advantages include increased safety and reliability, and less noise than conventional helicopters that have tail rotors. The Explorer is used for emergency medical services, air rescue, law enforcement and general utility missions.
