About the Aircraft:
This two-seat helicopter was the first ram-jet helicopter developed by Hiller. Each tip of the two-bladed rotor had a ram-jet engine weighing 11 lbs. which could not start working until the rotor was turning at 150 mph. Three different prototypes were built: one completely covered in, and the other two open.
